Growing up in Salt Lake City, UT, Alana Rae’s dance journey began after their first viewing of The Nutcracker, leading them to train with Ballet West Academy. Under the direction of Jennie Creer-King, they developed their ballet technique, including pointe work, while also competing in Latin Ballroom through their Utah public school. In 2016, Alana attended the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts, where they were introduced to modern dance and choreography. Upon graduation, Alana traveled cross country to attend the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, earning their BFA in Contemporary Dance in 2023. During their studies, they created five distinct works performed in the Boston area, along with a dance film and a duet, both conceived and presented in Utah. Alana has performed with Stoneworks Dance Production in Boston, MA, and Chrysalis Ballet Theater in Salt Lake City, UT.

Alana moved to Portland, OR, and joined push/FOLD as a company member in 2023. Outside of the studio and stage, Alana enjoys canyoneering, climbing, and backpacking in the outdoors with their dog.
